- No, you do not need to vacuum before we arrive. Steemer Elefante will vacuum if needed before beginning the carpet cleaning process.

Do you move furniture before cleaning my carpets?
- We move small furniture like sofas, tables and chairs. We however, do not move: pianos, electronics, china cabinets, waterbeds, some large beds, dressers with mirrors, etc. We recommend you moving those prior to your appointment.

• How long does it take you to do the job?
- It typically takes about 1 ½ to 2 ½ hours to complete the job, depending on the size of the job and any extras (stains, odorizer treatments) that you would like.

• How long does it take for my carpets to dry?
- It usually takes from 8 to 24 hours to dry depending upon the condition and thickness of the carpet, and ventilation. But you can walk on it as soon as we’re done Wait 24 hours before removing foam blocks or protective tabs that our technicians have placed under the furniture to protect the carpet.

• What about reoccurring spots and stains?
- If a spot returned a day or so after cleaning, it may have been due to the nature of the spot. Deep stains tend to surface if they are in the backing of the carpet.

• What chemicals do you use?
- We use top-of-the-line cleaning products consistent with industry standards and manufacturers recommendations. Our products are environmentally friendly, and OSHA and EPA compliant.

• What method do you use to clean my carpets?
- Steemer Elefante uses the cleaning method most recommended by carpet manufacturers called hot water extraction, commonly referred to as steam cleaning. This method removes even the toughest dirt safely and gently without ruining the carpet. Then we vacuum up the deep-down dirt, allergens, cleaning solution and 95% of the moisture with a powerful suction vacuum. Leaving your carpets clean and fresh again.

• Do you guarantee removal of all stains and/or spots in the carpet?
- We cannot guarantee that we will remove all spots or stains. There are substances that can permanently discolor the carpet fibers. The age of the carpet and the type of carpet fibers also plays a factor in this. Steemer Elefante will try to determine if this is the case prior to cleaning but they are not always able to determine this before trying to remove the spots.

• Do fabric protectors really work?
- Fabric protectors won’t prevent your carpet from getting dirty. Their purpose is to protect your carpet from permanent stains and prolong the life of the fabric, which they do very well if properly applied.
